I seem to be on a roll this time of year, continuously updating this blog! I’ve been secretly looking forward to shooting Ellie & Rob’s wedding because I love the venue they both had chosen. Batemans Barn is one of those hidden classic venues situated in the Suffolk country side. Last time I was here was in 2009! I love this venue and the owners are fantastic. I really wish I could do more shoots here! There are so many areas to take great images; you really are spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend taking a look into this venue if you are still yet to find something special.

It occurred to me while I was covering Amy & Stuart’s wedding that, since my friends have been of the age that they all started to tie the knot, I haven’t actually gotten to be a guest on any of their wedding days! I’m either shooting it, which means my mind is on the photography and I miss it all or I’m already booked to shoot a wedding elsewhere and can’t even attend. I’ve known Amy & Stuart for about half my life and these two are at the centre and responsible for introducing me to the most amazing friends I’ve certainly ever know. There are certainly very few photo albums in my house from ‘back in the day’ that do not include anyone at this wedding! I still don’t get to see t
hem all as much as I would like to but hopefully you’ll agree, I made up for some lost time with your images. Here’s to the most amazing couple and wedding party I’ll certainly ever capture…

A break form the weddings for a change this post! I thought I would share some wonderful family portrait images that were taken for Clare and her girls a couple of weeks ago. A lot of planning went into this shoot to achieve the right colour tones from the warm summer’s sun to the clothes the girls wore. It’s great to see what can be achieved when you and your photographer get your heads together. I love family portrait sessions with a theme. It brings a whole new dimension to the way they images look and the way I can shoot it.
Family portrait sessions are booked approximately 2 weeks in advance at any given point. If you’re thinking of having a shoot done have a look over at www.pjaphotography.com/portraits to download the full portrait investment guide and start planning your amazing adventure today. Once Clare’s product order is finalised I will try and upload the framed images that she has purchased as they sit on her wall. This will give you an idea of how these images can really bring a room to life.

Pre Wedding Shoots are a great way for any couple to get used to having their photographs taken before the big day. Not only does it give you a chance to know what it’s like being directed by your photographer it also allows you to bond with each other and get some great images! Most couples forget that your wedding photographer is the only supplier you will be dealing with for a continued period of time after your wedding day. In fact it is the longest lasting relationship you will have with any one of you wedding suppliers. Therefore it’s better to know you feel comfortable with your photographer way before you wedding day arrives. Pre wedding shoots are a great way to achieve this. Check out these images from a recent pre wedding shoot I did for Renee & Rob in a woodland area on the outskirts of Ipswich.Read More »
It was one HOT day a couple of weekends ago over in Essex! Probably the best weather I’ve had, so far, all season. So what’s a better way to spend a day like this other than getting married, a dip in a pool and watch a fantastic aerial stunt show!? Well that’s exactly what Helen & Oliver had planned for their wedding. All though I have visited all of the Talbooth & Milsom’s properties I’ve never had the chance to shoot at one of the venues. I always had massive expectations of these venues for weddings and I am pleased to say they lived right up to them. It was great to see the kidsRead More »
