Simon & Jo’s – Seckford Hall Wedding

It was a very casual affair at Seckford Hall for the wedding of Simon and Jo. When Jo contacted me with only a few months to go she had stressed that she wanted everything shot as natural as possible. Both Jo and Simon were not particularly keen on having photos taken and their choice was to have as many shots of themselves and guest enjoying the day rather than an endless list of group shots. This was a perfect fit for me! I have attended Seckford Hall many times in the past but this was the first chance I had to shoot a wedding in their newly renovated rooms as well as the now permanent patio marquee. A bit of change of scene helps keep me on my toes, which is always nice.

It was an absolute scorcher of a day and the guests made the most by spending every second up until the wedding breakfast outside with the garden games and the deckchairs. Luckily for me, the grounds at the hotel have plenty of shaded areas which did wonders for softening the harsh midday light. Although I had no family groups I managed to convince Simon and Jo to take a few minutes out to have a few shots of them both on the jetty by the lake. It’s always nice to capture a few portrait shots, even if you’re not keen on having your photo taken. It’s always something you will look back on and smile. Here are a few from the day.
